Types
of Showers
| |
Showers are units
where a person bathes by standing underneath spraying water. A shower differs from a bath in the
way that the user does not actually bathe in standing water, but in water that is moving and going
down the drain as it runs down to the floor.
Showers are almost
always enclosed by some kind of water-resistant surface such as tile, plastic, or fiberglass
panels, including sometimes glass pivot shower doors. These are called corner shower enclosures or
kits.

There are, in general, two different types of showers...public showers and domestic showers.
Public showers are the ones like you would find in a gym. Sometimes, public showers are made up of many different
shower stalls that are equipped with curtains for privacy, and sometimes they are just open rooms with many shower
nozzles on the walls.
A domestic shower is the type of
shower you would find in a home. These can be of various different sizes, usually decided by how much room there
is. Some houses have huge showers with multiple shower heads, and some have very small showers fit for no more than
one or two people.
Showers are not only a part of most
people’s daily hygiene regimen, but are also considered very therapeutic and relaxing. Some people bathe multiple
times a day. For example, they bathe after work before going to the gym, and then again after getting home from the
gym to wash the sweat off.
Showering is also often quicker and
more cost-effective than bathing in a bath tub, because it uses less time and water. This fits the fast-paced
lifestyle of many modern people, which serves to make showers a lot more popular for everyday use than a
bath.
In general, shower use has
skyrocketed over the past 15 years. Not only does it save time, but it allows people to bathe multiple times a day
without really using much water.
